S.O.U.R.C.E. Event Branding

This project centered around developing a branding identity for the 2024 Symposium on Undergraduate Research and Creative Expression (S.O.U.R.C.E.) event at St. Edward's University. The event allows students to present research and creative endeavors.

The goal of the project was to learn about building a brand identity for a large event.

The Brand Idea

As shown above, the branding of S.O.U.R.C.E. within the booklet follows a minimal and sleek design system. The idea behind this identity was inspired by the purpose of S.O.U.R.C.E. itself; forward movement through cutting edge research done by the students.

Visually, the branding elements follow this idea. Slanted arrows and bubbles depict the swift movement of ideas through a space. The typefaces are modern and elegant, representing the high level of research the students bring to the event.

Being Chosen for 2024 S.O.U.R.C.E.

After completing this project, a brand system had to be selected for 2024 S.O.U.R.C.E. that would take place in April of 2024. Various students submitted their projects, including me. 

Through a vote, my branding system was chosen to be the official system of the 2024 S.O.U.R.C.E. event. This meant that my work would be physically produced and used at the event in April of 2024.
