RMW Videography

The primary goal of this commission was to design a logo for RMW Videography, a small local venture.

The client was looking for a simple, sophisticated logo that gave off the idea of a self-starter videography business. They wanted it to be a circular logo with a crosshatch symbol in the middle, a popular logo style among many modern companies.

final logo

The final product, as per the client’s instructions, featured a thin circular border, simple sans-serif typography, and a symbol in the middle.

Process

step 1: sketches

The first step in logo design is always sketching with pencil and paper. This is a good way to get out all of the potential ideas I might have for the logo in a way that doesn’t take too much time or commitment.

I originally experimented with different ways of inserting a camera into the logo as I wanted to provide the client with more options than what they had asked for.

step 2: vector drafts

The next step was take the sketches that the client preferred and turn them into digital vector assets. As a way of giving the client multiple options to choose from, I made several versions of the logo.

step 3: Client chooses

After providing all the options to the client, it was time for them to make a decision on which they preferred. Once they had chosen, I made a couple more edits, packaged it up, and sent it to the client.
